In this role, you'll:
Join our Survey team in our Engineering and Maintenance division and work on field-based projects across the Sydney Trains network. You'll be on-site setting up and using specialised surveying equipment.
You'll assist in capturing accurate survey data, preparing sketches, drawings and reports. You'll have exposure to various survey calculation software and CAD packages. You'll follow project plans and quality procedures to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality survey outcomes.
You'll learn on-the-job from experienced surveyors and gain hands-on experience with railway specific surveying projects.
We have two permanent full-time positions available, you'll work on-site at either Auburn or Hornsby and will be required to travel to various sites across a geographical area:
1. Auburn-based role, covering the Sydney metro area, supporting the Central team.
2. Hornsby-based role, covering the North region from North Strathfield to Newcastle and Waverton to Hornsby.

About you
You hold tertiary qualifications (TAFE or University) such as a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Surveying or equivalent.
You're keen to develop your skills in field surveying, Survey data reductions and technical knowledge, while contributing to rail projects.
You're a team player who values safety, quality, and practical problem-solving. You’re also adaptable, enthusiastic and ready to work in the field and travel across sites in the Sydney Trains network.
This is an opportunity to gain exposure to specialised railway surveying equipment and projects. You'll work with experienced surveyors and learn how surveying supports the full asset lifecycle. You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team and you'll have access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
