Senior Geotechnical Engineer

In this role, you'll:

Work within our Maintenance Civil Engineering Team within the Engineering and Maintenance Branch of Sydney Trains, with a focus on providing specialist geotechnical engineering advice for geotechnical risk sites and track formation problems, with technical solutions to a variety of internal and external interfaces relevant to Sydney Trains asset classes.

This role will see you involved in best practice engineering advice and services to internal and external stakeholders, in order to maximise the safety and reliability of relevant Sydney Trains assets throughout the asset lifecycle.

You will also be involved in the development of cost effective, fit for purpose, practical and innovative solutions for track formation designs and geotechnical engineering corrective maintenance works.

This will include, conducting investigations and preparing technical investigation reports and technical documentation.

In addition to this, your role will involve, assisting and advising during construction progress of geotechnical remedial\project work to ensure that the work meets design and quality assurance requirements.

About you

Your tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering - preferably post graduate - will also see you being eligible for graduate membership of Engineers Australia.

You’re recognised as having proven experience in site based geotechnical risk assessments and investigations for Civil infrastructure projects, ideally for rail infrastructure.

You also ideally bring leadership experience to lead a very small team with the skills to deliver technical advice, directions and perform advanced investigations and analyses where required.

This is an Award RC6 Permanent Full-Time role based at the Sydenham depot and the Clyde Hub in Auburn, with flexibility through our cutting-edge hybrid working model!.

Typically, this will be 50% flexible working and 50% working at the various office locations.
