Sydney Trains’ Tangara fleet makes up a quarter of our suburban rail fleet. To ensure its longevity, the Tangara Fleet Life Extension project will upgrade operating systems, modernise onboard passenger information systems, and enhance accessibility features for mobility-impaired passengers. The project will also help build our future workforce capabilities, strengthen local economies and support the long-term growth of NSW’s transportation industry.

 


In this role, you'll:

 

  • Responsible for leading the engineering support to the Tangara Fleet Life Extension (TFLE) Commercial & Supply Chain team, providing technical advice to develop procedures for how material conformance is managed between the project and commercial partners.

 

  • Liaise with Design and Production Engineering to confirm parts conformance and identify suitable alternatives that allow the project

 

  • Provide mentoring and coaching to support the technical development of Project Engineers and improve the capability of the team.

About you


You have substantial experience in providing engineering advice and support to design and production projects as well as in project delivery and/or engineering works, ideally in a rail environment.

You have demonstrated experience in project management support, and quality management, in conjunction with demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of relevant standards such as Australian Engineering and Technical standards.


You have demonstrated mentoring experience providing technical leadership and guidance to colleagues.
