Senior Signalling Mechanical Engineer (12 month temporary opportunity)

In this role, you'll:
Work as part of a team delivering high-performing, safe, and compliant signalling mechanical systems.
This role will see you contribute to asset lifecycle management, system integrity, and infrastructure assurance across the rail network.You will support the development of standards, resolve technical issues, assist in type approvals, and contribute to training and competency frameworks—playing a key part in maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective rail operations.
You will collaborate, advise, and problem-solve to improve performance, safety, and reliability of signalling mechanical systems in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.
Your technical expertise, analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills, formed across engineering, infrastructure, or rail-related roles, will see you navigate regulatory requirements, support accreditation, and guide systems development—leading to improved network performance and assurance.

About you
- You have extensive experience in signalling mechanical engineering.
- You have demonstrated experience producing engineering designs, comprising of schematics, technical drawings, specifications and reports, within the rail engineering environment using SOLID WORKS.
- You have knowledge of signalling mechanical components and their use and application.
- You have an understanding of Sydney Trains processes for production and assurance of signalling designs.
- You're recognised as a knowledgeable and trusted technical advisor, skilled at resolving complex systems issues, experienced in rail signalling, mechanical systems engineering, and standards compliance.
