You have the opportunity to gain a wealth of expertise and a diverse range of skills, providing insight and knowledge without losing sight of your work-life balance or wellbeing.
In this role you’ll:
Play a pivotal role in delivering the infrastructure that keeps Sydney moving, working behind the scenes to ensure, every worksite, and every project gets the work train that’s needed, exactly when it’s needed.
You’ll be at the heart of operations, coordinating and programming the movement of work trains across the Sydney Trains network. By arranging Special Train Notices, Train Alteration Advice, and train paths, you’ll support critical infrastructure delivery for Sydney Trains, Transport for NSW, and our external partners. Your work will keep projects on track while upholding our commitment to safety, reliability, and efficiency.
You’ll manage train request orders and tailor train consists to meet each project’s material needs, balancing precision with adaptability in a fast-moving environment.
When the unexpected happens, you’ll be ready to respond to work train emergencies around the clock to keep disruptions to a minimum and maintain continuity across the network. You’ll collaborate with other rail operators to ensure Sydney Trains' rolling stock moves safely and cost-effectively across shared rail corridors, and you’ll bring a strategic lens to operations by preparing cost estimates that support smart infrastructure planning and budgeting.
Above all, you’ll lead with integrity, ensuring every aspect of your work aligns with the high standards set out in the Sydney Trains Safety Management System. This is more than a job - it’s your chance to make a tangible impact on Sydney’s transport future.
