In this role, you'll:


Join our Regional Field Operations West team as a Customer and Network Operations Coordinator, where you will be at the forefront of incident response and network coordination across the Blue Mountains, Oberon and Lithgow council areas. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring operational readiness, enabling quick recovery from unplanned events, and improving service delivery to our customers.

You will coordinate with emergency services, local councils, and other key stakeholders, ensuring consistent and customer-focused operational practices during both planned works and unplanned incidents such as accidents, weather emergencies and other major disruptions.

You will:


• Coordinate real-time responses to incidents, ensuring swift, safe, and effective resolution with a focus on minimising customer impact.


• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and negotiating with and influencing response partners to advocate for the quick clearance of incidents to ensure seamless collaboration during planned works and unexpected events


• Develop and maintain incident response plans, identify process improvement opportunities, and look for ways to improve the reliability of the network.


• Represent TfNSW in emergency management forums and provide timely reports and advice to senior leaders.

This is a permanent, full-time position located at our Bowenfels office. The successful candidate will undertake regular travel throughout the Blue Mountains and surrounding region and be required to work outside of normal working hours, weekends and public holidays as required, including rotating on-call shifts. Overtime and shift penalties will be paid in accordance with the RMS Award.

About you


You’re a confident and capable operator who has demonstrated experience in transport network operations, a strong understanding of incident management, risk mitigation, and the complexities of maintaining access and mobility across a diverse network.

You thrive in high-pressure situations, are skilled at delivering sound, timely advice to stakeholders, and can tactfully navigate politically sensitive environments.

Your ability to build strong, customer-focused relationships is one of your core strengths. You work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and are known for your ability to influence, negotiate, and align differing perspectives to achieve the best operational outcomes. You approach every situation with a customer-first mindset, managing competing priorities while ensuring the network returns to normal as efficiently and safely as possible.

With sound knowledge of transport operations management principles, technologies, and standards, you’re ready to step into a critical role where your decisions make a real impact for our customer every day.

In addition to the above, it is a requirement of this role that the successful candidate holds a current, valid, Australian driver's license.
