In this role, you'll:
Lead one of our road maintenance teams, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of maintenance tasks for road projects based in the Lithgow region.
This is a multi-faceted role and your broad hands-on experience from working across all aspects of road maintenance, including pavement, drainage, delineation and corridor maintenance activities etc will see you succeed in leading and supervising team members.
Your role will include:
•Working collaboratively with your crew to resolve issues, provide advice through on the job training and find the best solution to problems that may arise.
•Managing any conflict between team members or related external stakeholders and model collaborative behaviours to support a positive and safe work environment.
•Maintaining a strong focus on safety when performing daily activities and all environmental, quality controls are implemented on site.
•Ensuring scheduled maintenance activities are completed within the desired timeframes and within budget in accordance with TfNSW specifications and operating procedures.
•Model a willingness to undertake duties on the ground when needed.
This role is based in Lithgow however it covers a regional reach of up to an hour from the depot including out to Bathurst, Mount Victoria, Jenolan Caves Road and the Castlereagh Highway up to Capertee.

About you
We’re seeking a proactive and organised leader with extended knowledge and experience in a civil construction environment and enjoys working with a variety of people.
You will have strong leadership skills leading and developing a team.
You will be someone who enjoys taking responsibility while working under minimal supervision and have proven ability to follow appropriate safe working procedures and resolve routine problems independently.
We are also looking at applicants who have excellent communication and provide guidance and direction to team members and can build strong working relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects.
Essential criteria:
•Traffic Control certification (Traffic Controller & Implement Traffic Control Plan)
•A valid unrestricted NSW Driver's licence
•Experience operating at a Road Worker Grade 3 level
•Sound experience using internal reporting systems
•Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements.
A Truck Licence Medium Rigid Class or higher would be an advantage but not essential
Traffic Control certification (Prepare Work Zone) would also be an advantage but not essential
