In this role, you'll:

 

Be part of the Asset Program team within Asset Management of the Engineering and Maintenance Directorate within Sydney Trains.  This role plays a critical part in supporting the Corporate Governance Framework across Sydney Trains and Transport for NSW. You will provide secretariat, governance, compliance, and business support to ensure strong governance practices and alignment with organisational standards.

 

Key responsibilities include maintaining delegations frameworks, ensuring organisational policies are current, and workplace practices comply with Sydney Trains and TfNSW’s governance and compliance requirements. Your work will help ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and statutory obligations.

 

These responsibilities include:

 

  • Establish decision making framework for approving and escalating decisions
  • Leads program governance, Key decision log, action log, Dependency, Reporting, Risk, Issues, benefit tracking, portfolio & Quality Management
  • Develops the executive Steering Committee, program control steering and relevant working group SteerCo packs
  • Secretariat, follow up on key action items from meetings
  • Tracking quality of Working group development, chairing, document
  • Managing RASCI of all accountable parties ensuing any scope gaps can be identified and addressed
  • Ensuring Preliminary Business Case  & Final Business Casee INSW assurance financial Gates are met (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
  • Ensure Compliance to all other Controls / frameworks (e.g. Treasury Investment gates / Configuration Gates, CCB) 

 

This is a temporary full time position until 30/6/2027.

About you

 

You are highly organised and experienced in supporting large working groups and managing records with precision. You excel at tracking deliverables and ensuring progress is maintained across complex projects.

 

You are an experienced governance professional with a strong background in supporting complex projects and managing sensitive information. You thrive in highly regulated environments and have the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.

 

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience providing confidential corporate governance support in a project environment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of secure document and information management requirements.
  • Ability to prepare progress reports for all levels of working groups and provide secretariat support for business cases.
  • Knowledge of best-practice corporate governance, ideally within a highly regulated environment such as NSW Government.
  • Strong coordination skills to manage governance forums involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to produce information packs and progress reports to support governance forums and meetings.
