In this role, you'll:
Lead the strategic direction and execution of both application development and DevSecOps initiatives to enhance public transport services. Overseeing the alignment of development and operational frameworks and standards you will achieve optimal outcomes for the organisation’s strategic operational and business requirements, delivering high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.

Provide high level domain expertise and direction for Technology services and program planning for the branch including driving the development of high-level capability and application technology architectures and roadmaps, business plans and delivery plans to support business objectives.

Drive innovation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions that align with Transport for NSW’s objectives and improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and service delivery. You will foster a culture of collaboration between development, testing and operations, integrating best practises from these disciplines to streamline and optimise the delivery and maintenance of applications.

Provide leadership to a variable number of direct and indirect reports, and mentor and develop the application development and testing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance.

New permanent, fulltime Transport Senior Service Executive (1B) role | Home office Burwood. Hybrid working arrangements based on role requirements and in line with Transport's evolving policies for workplace presence.

About you
You’re recognised as a highly collaborative and innovative leader with extensive expertise in leading large-scale application development programs within a complex organisation.

 

You possess: 

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale application development programs within a complex organisation. 
  • Strong knowledge of modern application development frameworks, cloud technologies, and software engineering best practices.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and digital transformation initiatives that enhance service delivery.
  • Leadership experience managing cross-functional development teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in agile and DevOps methodologies, ensuring efficient and iterative software delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle working in a matrixed operation model.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent industry-based experience at a senior level within a relevant workplace context.
