Senior Manager Data Engineering

In this role, you'll:
Be working within the Group Technology branch, leading the delivery of  Data & Analytics solutions and advancing delivery practices. You will own the delivery of initiatives across areas such as data design, engineering, integration, management, operations, and AI/ML services, enabling reporting, insights, and predictive analytics.

You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring Data & Analytics solutions are delivered effectively, on time, and aligned with business goals. This role bridges technical execution and business strategy, with a focus on data-driven initiatives.

• Manage timelines, milestones, and resources for Data & Analytics deliveries in collaboration with the program/project management team.

• Lead cross-functional teams of data engineers, analysts, developers, and AI specialists.

• Mentor and coach team members to support growth in skills and performance.

• Collaborate with source system owners and data consumers to ensure the right outcomes are delivered for data and insights teams.

• Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track initiative delivery progress.

• Proficiency with Azure Data Platform (Databricks, Data Factory, Lakehouse, AI), Microsoft Power BI, Domo, Tableau, Python/R, ETL tools, Erwin Data Model, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

• Strong expertise in Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Integration, AI Services, and Data Visualisation.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA, MS Project, and Confluence.

• Advanced skills in presentation, negotiation, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Proven experience in team leadership, conflict resolution, and strategic thinking.
