In this role, you'll:


• Work as part of a team at our Heavy Plant Depot in Clyde for Sydney Trains on specialised Track Maintenance Machines around the greater Sydney region. These machines are responsible for maintaining critical rail infrastructure for the safe and efficient operation of passenger and freight trains.
• Diagnose, repair, service and maintain complex Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical and Electrical systems.
• Provide elementary fitting and machining, arc welding, oxy acetylene welding and cutting in a workshop and field working environment. 
 
This is a shift-based position and includes nights, weekends, and public holidays. The Pay Grade Scale is AVP 4.2 ($89,155). You will be required to travel, live away from home and work some night shifts for a geographical area that will cover from Newcastle to Bathurst and down to Berry.

About you


• Trade Certified Cert III Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent qualification, or Cert III Automotive Electrician or equivalent qualification. Favourably, you hold a Cert IV in Fluid Power Control, although this is not essential.
• You’re a team player able to work safely in a team as well as individually. You enjoy working on complex plant machinery and problem-solving in a hands-on environment. 
• Experienced in navigating Programmable Logic Controller (PLC's) as a diagnostic tool
• Ability to read engineering schematics. (Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical & Mechanical) with computer and tablet literacy.
