MR Truck Driver - Coffs Harbour & Port Macquarie

In this role, you'll:

Be an experienced Truck Driver (MR GANG or MR GENERAL) and join either our Maintenance or Construction Crew based in Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie NSW – As we have 2 openings, 1 MR Gang and 1 MR General.

• Operate Light and Medium Rigid vehicles (with a GVM of greater than 4.5 tonnes) as an MR Truck Driver for the Maintenance & Delivery or Construction team
• Tow any trailers that their vehicle is rated to tow – MR General
• Operate a HIAB or similar truck mounted crane – MR GANG
• Carry out general road worker labouring duties of a Road Worker Grade 3
• In addition to the above, the trucks operated by this position may include water tankers, Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMA) and Flocon Trucks (asphalt transport)
• Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
• Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards
• Work a 9 Day Fortnight

Note: To be considered for the Construction Crew you must be prepared to camp away from home and travel across the region most of the year. The Maintenance Crew will start and end each day at the Coffs Harbour Depot or Fernbank Depot.

About you

We are looking for experienced Truck Drivers who has the capability to work under limited supervision and has experience in maintaining a safe and injury free workplace for all employees while operating in a high speed, high traffic volume environment.

Essential Licenses and Tickets:

• White Card
• MR Driver Licence
• Traffic control certifications (Implement Traffic Control/Control Traffic)

Labouring experience in a construction or civil environment and experience and understanding of local road networks across the district.

You will live within 70km radius of either the Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie works depots

Whilst not required, experience in operating plant (excavator, bobcat, padfoot/smooth drum roller) is advantageous. It is also preferred that the candidate have the “prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan” accreditation.
