In this role, you'll:
Develop and monitor strategic safety and environmental objectives, targets, and performance indicators to support decision-making and proactively manage risk, ensuring compliance with standards and legislation.

Manage and maintain accredited Safety and Environmental Management Systems, ensuring alignment with Australian Standards and Federal Safety Accreditation requirements.

Provide expert advice and updates to the Senior Management Team and business unit leaders on emerging safety and environmental matters, supporting informed decisions and risk mitigation.

Drive cultural change by leading and influencing staff and managers to promote accountability, awareness, and best practices in safety and environmental management.

Design and implement training, induction, and capability-building programs to embed a strong safety and environmental culture and enhance staff performance.

Lead regular audits, inspections, and assessments, identifying non-compliance or improvement opportunities, ensuring corrective actions are followed through, and maintaining strong external stakeholder engagement.

The role works out of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the expectation is to attend the office most days.

About you
Proven experience in developing and implementing safety and/or environmental management systems, with a strong track record of driving process improvements and aligning systems with best practice standards.

Extensive background as an auditor of accredited safety and/or environmental management systems, with the ability to identify compliance gaps and lead corrective actions.

Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change through effective leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the promotion of safety and environmental awareness across diverse teams.

Skilled in designing and delivering targeted training and induction programs that build capability and support the adoption of strong safety and environmental practices.

Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management, with experience maintaining collaborative relationships with external regulatory bodies, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

While it's not essetial there is a strong desire for Cert IV in Training .
