Plant Operator (Up to 12 Months Temporary Opportunity) - Dubbo

In this role, you'll:
Be a part of our Road Maintenance & Resilience team undertaking a new package of works in Walgett.
You will service the Dubbo District and Walgett Shire (within a nominal 200km radius)
Operating a variety of major plant items that are used in road construction and maintenance within road infrastructure.
Perform maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools.
Undertake road maintenance activities which may include, but not limited to, material loading or transfer, pavement and corridor maintenance such as vegetation maintenance, safety barrier maintenance, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works
Travel throughout the District to attend worksites including attending call outs on weekends and after hours scheduled night work where required along with work away from home.
This is a Fixed-Term Full-Time Opportunity to 30th June 2026 – Based in Dubbo or Walgett.
We take the WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 70km distance of Walgett, Dubbo or Narrabri.

About you
You are flexible and adaptable to changing work environments
You will work effectively as part of a collaborative team
Have strong communication skills
You are a knowledgeable plant operator who is experienced in safe and efficient operations of Road maintenance equipment.
You’ll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant including Backhoe, Excavator and Skid Steer and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly.
You must hold the following qualifications:
- White Card
- Current driver’s license
Whilst not essential a truck license, or the ability to load plant on the back of truck/trailer would be highly desirable.
