Sydney Trains’ Tangara fleet makes up a quarter of our suburban rail fleet. To ensure its longevity, the Tangara Fleet Life Extension project will upgrade operating systems, modernise onboard passenger information systems, and enhance accessibility features for mobility-impaired passengers. The project will also help build our future workforce capabilities, strengthen local economies and support the long-term growth of NSW’s transportation industry.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead the technical/engineering function that supports production and prototyping activities on the Tangara Fleet Life Extension (TFLE) program within clearly defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints. You will be the technical SME on-site and be the conduit between production and design delivery.
- Manage the delivery all technical tasks, including but not limited to developing/updating technical reference documentation (e.g. Work Instructions for the front-line production team) to deliver the TFLE program
- Answer, resolve or escalate all technical queries from TFLE production and testing & commissioning teams such that project deliverables and timelines are met and outcomes comply with design and regulatory requirements

About you
You are a tertiary qualified engineer with previous experience, ideally within the rail, aviation or defence industries.
You possess well developed stakeholder management skills and have the ability to communicate with influence across both verbal and written communication.
You will have the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects and their intended objectives.
