In this role, you'll:

  • Perform road maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools
  • Road maintenance activities may include, but not limited to, widening & barrier installs, enhanced road pavements, overtaking lanes and heavy patching works.
  • Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
  • On occasion attend after hours call outs when required
  • Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards
  • Work a 9-day fortnight roster

About you

We’re seeking a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments.

You are a practical thinker, quick learner and great communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting.

You must hold the following qualifications:

  • White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed

 

You must have previous experience as a Road Worker or related civil construction experience.

We take WH&S and the management of fatigue of our employees seriously. Therefore, to be successful in this role it is a requirement that you must reside within a 100 km distance from the Glen Innes depot.

A Talent Pool may be created for current and future permanent full time or limited duration positions over the next 18-month period. If you are deemed suitable at interview and a vacancy arises, you may be contacted and asked to complete pre-employment checks.
