In this role, you'll:
Support projects in delivering assets that are safe and fit for purpose, through the application of Systems Assurance processes. These roles are technical in nature and you will act as an internal consultant, developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support programs and projects in the development and delivery of solutions that are safe to operate and maintain.
Due to the unprecedented scale of investment in the Transport for NSW Future Transport strategy we have a range of opportunities for Systems Assurance Engineers & Systems Safety Engineers within the Infrastructure and Place Technical Service’s team.

We have a permanent full time Systems Assurance role available. Role is based in Macquarie Park and have flexible working arrangments according to TfNSW policy.

About you
You will have tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Systems and Safety Assurance or relevant industry experience.
Ideally, you will have some experience in the rail or road transportation sector. You will have an interest in safety engineering, systems engineering and/or technical assurance principles and tools. Experience in applying these principles in other safety- and mission-critical sectors, such as defence, aerospace or medical devices, would also be highly regarded.
Key Systems Assurance activities you will support include:
• Supporting projects in demonstrating compliance with relevant systems and safety assurance processes, engineering standards and technical and user requirements during all phases of the project.
• Performing systems assurance reviews for compliance with systems and safety engineering requirements and demonstrating that the end product is safe.
• Reviewing safety assurance reports, risk assessments and systems engineering reports and providing recommendations for improvement.
• Ensuring that risk assessments, risk controls and verification of implementation of risk controls are documented and managed by the project throughout the project lifecycle to ensure any residual risks can be transitioned to the asset owner.
• Contributing best practice data and information in order to continuously improve the Systems Assurance function.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders to achieve project goals and delivery Configuration Management outcomes.
