In this role, you'll:
Join our Regional Transport Operations Centre and play a critical role in transport network operations management as a Shift Manager.
Working out of the control centre at McLeods Shoot you will be overseeing a team of Operations Coordinators on scheduled shifts.
Set the direction, identifying overall needs, preparing forward plans, organising resourcing, and monitoring performance, to ensure effective day-to-day operations.
Operate a range of network and tunnel management systems and oversees the coordination of responses to planned events and unplanned incidents to optimise the customer experience when travelling on the transport network in regional and outer metropolitan NSW.
Motivate, encourage and inspire the development of a strong, professional team with a clear focus on the delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key traffic stakeholders and relevant business units within TfNSW, other state road authorities, emergency services, local government and other transport stakeholders.
We have multiple permanent opportunities and a temporary role available located on site at our McLeods Shoot Regional Transport Operations Centre in Northern NSW.
This is a 24/7 operations centre and therefore you will be required to work 12 hour shifts (rotating roster, completing 12 shifts over a 28-day period) and often be available on public holidays throughout the year as required. As these are shift work positions, attractive pentalty and overtime rates, along with 5 weeks annual leave per year will apply.

About you
A strong communicator and influential team player, capable of building key relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
As a leader you can work collaboratively with your team to inspire direction, mentoring them to upskill and develop competencies across the business and overcome challenges.
Ideally experience in control room operations and an understanding of traffic or network management principles, devices (such as tunnel systems, traffic signal operation etc.), policies and standards is highly desirable, but we are willing to consider candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds.
You’re technically savvy with the ability to learn and adapt to using a wide range of computer-based applications and operating systems.
Have proven experience managing a team who work to tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
If you have experience in network management and computerised electronic traffic and transport systems, together with a sound understanding of network management, along with effective communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, this is the right career opportunity for you.
