In this role, you'll:


We are looking for a skilled Rail Maintainer – Fitter to join our dynamic team, playing a vital role in maintaining and repairing passenger trains.

 

This is a shift working role which works a rotating roster which includes Day, afternoon and night shifts as well as working weekends, public holidays when rostered. 

 


In this position, you will apply your trade expertise to diagnose and resolve defects, ensuring trains remain safe and available for service with minimal disruption.

About you


As an experienced maintainer, you will take ownership of your work, ensuring it meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations.

 

Your role will involve a range of fitting and mechanical tasks, including repairs, servicing, and component replacements.

 

Additionally, you’ll support your colleagues by sharing your knowledge and providing on-the-job training to help build a strong, skilled team.


Your daily tasks will include inspections, servicing, fault finding, repairs, and upgrades on train components, with a strong focus in pneumatic systems on the rollingstock as well as maintaining depot equipment.

 

You’ll also collaborate with contractors to ensure efficient maintenance processes that contribute to the overall reliability of the passenger fleet.

 

Safety is paramount in everything you do. You will adhere to strict occupational health and safety policies, maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, and support a culture that prioritizes the wellbeing of all team members.
