In this role, you'll:
Right now, we have multiple opportunities for Plant Operators to be a part of our Construction team in Orange.
 
You will operate a variety of major plant items that are used in road construction and maintenance projects. You’ll be required to carry out certain duties including but not limited to:

  • maintenance of established pavements
  • construction of new or enhanced pavements
  • widening of existing pavements to improve safety
  • installation of drainage and other road related ancillaries
  • establishment and maintenance of roadside fixtures and signage
  • application of road marking materials
  • application of bituminous sealing materials

 
Plant Operators are provided with training and opportunities to develop professionally.

About you
We’re seeking a team player and knowledgeable plant operator who is experienced in safe and efficient operations of road construction and maintenance equipment.


You’ll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant including (but not limited to) Backhoe, Excavator, Roller and Skid Steer and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly.

You must hold the following qualifications and set of skills: 

  • White Card
  • Current driver’s licence,  Traffic Control Certifications
  • Relevant demonstrated competencies in plant or, alternatively, tickets of competency.
  • Labouring experience in a construction or civil environment.

                                                                                                                                         
Whilst not essential, a Medium Rigid / Heavy Rigid truck license would be highly desirable attributes for applicants.

 

You will be willing to work outside normal working hours, attend after hour call-outs, and must be prepared to travel throughout the state and work at locations away from the base station.
