AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Up to 6 Months Temporary Opportunity)

In this role, you'll:
Collaborate within cross-functional project teams to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure solutions for Transport for NSW.
Support senior engineers in developing high-quality, secure, and robust cloud infrastructure using open-source frameworks and cloud computing services.
Streamline workflows and release processes using continuous delivery methodologies, including test-driven development and automation practices.
Monitor infrastructure performance and diagnostics to ensure business continuity and maximum uptime for critical web applications.
Conduct code reviews and analyses to identify and resolve issues, ensuring validity, efficiency, and consistency across infrastructure and software systems.
Support deployment processes by managing the packaging and import of applications and components into various environments.
Apply infrastructure-as-code principles and CI/CD pipelines to manage immutable server environments effectively.
Stay current with emerging technologies, best practices, and government policies to ensure compliance and innovation in infrastructure solutions

About you
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPCs, and other core IaaS/PaaS services.
• Strong understanding of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), VPCs, Security Groups, and Direct Connect.
• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform.
• Proficient in scripting with AWS CLI and Bash or Python (Boto3).
• Experience with Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, and AWS Cost Explorer / AWS Budgets for monitoring and cost management.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and on-premises to AWS migration strategies (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, AWS DMS, AWS Snowball).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Preferred certifications include ,AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty
