Network Optimisation & Solutions Lead (Up to 4 Months Temporary Opportunity)

In this role, you'll:
Identify traffic efficiency, congestion, safety & network performance issues and lead the development of network optimisation solutions to address the specific, integrated needs of road based public transport, freight, pedestrians, cyclists and light vehicles.

Lead, manage and undertake the development &delivery of performance measurement tools, reports and datasets for the transport network by undertaking network performance studies, deficiency analyses and trend identification. Using relevant performance information systems, report on the current and anticipated future operation of the multi-modal transport network in Sydney. 

Develop and deliver traffic assessment and evaluation reports as an SME to enable evidence based decision making.

Establish and manage relationships with internal and external partners in the acquisition and analysis of data and information to support robust evidence-based analysis and ensure services are delivered accurately on time and within budget.

Fixed Term, Full time opportunity to end August 2025 | Hybrid work – Parramatta home office with a requirement to work from other Transport offices as required.

About you

• Investigation and development of complex traffic efficiency, congestion, safety and corridor performance issues and develop appropriate build or non-build (e.g. Technology) solutions.
• Transport systems management, interpreting traffic modelling, an understanding of road network modelling and traffic engineering practice to improve traffic flow.
• Working knowledge & experience of SIDRA & SCATS is preferred.
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in civil or traffic engineering or a related discipline or relevant demonstrated extensive work experience.
