Senior Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Officer (Temporary Opportunity up to 8 months)

Organisation/Entity:  Transport For NSW
Job category:  Projects
Job location:

Parramatta, NSW, AU, 2150

Job reference number:  99026
Employment type:  Fixed Term Full-Time
Salary range:  $133545.0-$149568.0

You want to play a part in making NSW a better place to work, live and travel.

You're ready to help shape our narrative. Your expertise will amplify the impact of initiatives, foster public trust and ensure our stakeholders are engaged and empowered by what we do.

In this role, you'll:
Join our Sydney Integration and Place branch where you will assist in delivering internal and external communications and community and stakeholder engagement activities for an array of impactful, city-shaping infrastructure projects such as the Epping Bridge project, Homebush Bay Drive and the Australia Avenue roundabout upgrade.

Embedded in a branch that works closely with internal project teams and external stakeholders such as local councils and community groups, you will assist in the development and implementation of strategic and corporate communication strategies and plans, developing project collateral, coordinating media activities and ministerial presentations for briefings and regular reporting.

This is a Temporary Full-Time opportunity up to 19/12/2025.

Transport for NSW is currently in consultation to determine our workplace presence proposal which could see non-frontline employees primarily required to work from an approved office location under a hybrid agreement. This particular role is currently based at our Parramatta Square office hub.
The proposed changes do not impact the availability of flexible, hybrid working arrangements at Transport. We remain committed to providing an inclusive working environment and supporting all employees to work effectively and productively.

About you
You have proven experience developing communications and engagement plans and supporting the execution of these strategies within a customer-focused environment.

You will possess impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal, as you will partner with various internal and external stakeholders to assist in the delivery of communications campaigns for our customers. The ability to develop easy-to-understand project communication collateral and deliver face to face engagement activities is essential, and therefore we are seeking someone who enjoys writing and interacting with members of the public. You will also have a flair for storytelling, developing a compelling narrative, and interpreting and translating technical information for your chosen audience.

We are looking for creative, communications professionals who can manage competing priorities in an everchanging, politically sensitive environment.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience are essential. Exposure to a project environment and developing business cases would also be highly desirable, although not essential.

If you are looking for a new opportunity, this is your chance to be involved in career-defining projects that will shape the future of Sydney.

Please note that suitable candidates will be required to complete a video interview using our online interview platform Vieple. Successful candidates will be invited to a second-round panel interview over Teams.
