In this role, you'll:


Work across Sydney Trains to develop, coordinate and implement training plans to ensure required competency-based training and assessment for employees is delivered efficiently and effectively, with a strong focus on rail safety worker requirements.  You will ensure training is aligned with compliance standards, delivered efficiently, and supports the organisation’s broader safety and capability objectives.


You’ll also oversee the coordination of competence assurance activities, manage training and competency data and support continuous improvement through risk identification, performance reporting, and evaluation of competency processes within a safety-critical environment.

About you


You are a proactive and analytical professional with proven experience in workplace capability, as well as the development and management of training, assessment, and competency assurance programs. You have a strong track record of designing and delivering training plans within large, complex operational environments.


With excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you work collaboratively across the business to identify and resolve issues. You have a sound understanding of competency and assurance frameworks and take pride in maintaining a robust safety competency profile that supports compliance and reduces risk. Confident in working with data, you use tools such as Excel and Domo to monitor competencies, identify risks, and support decision-making. While not essential, experience with Power BI would be highly regarded.
