In this role, you'll:
Working as part of our Maritime branch as the Manager Learning and Capability, you will manage all aspects of existing training programs as well as identifying, designing, developing and implementing new programs that support the capability uplift of staff in achieving the strategic objectives of Maritime.
You will play a lead role in reviewing existing training and capability programs in line with industry best practice standards, performing training needs analysis research to benchmark current capability and identifying future requirements, and develop and monitor staff capability and training matrix to inform on recruitment, performance and development.
This role will also see you leadingand mentoring a team of Learning and Development Officers in the facilitation of training across Maritime.

Transport for NSW is currently in consultation to determine our workplace presence proposal which could see non-frontline employees primarily required to work from an approved office location under a hybrid agreement. This particular role is a permanent, full time position and is currently based at our Rozelle office hub.
The proposed changes do not impact the availability of flexible, hybrid working arrangements at Transport. We remain committed to providing an inclusive working environment and supporting all employees to work effectively and productively.
About you
You are an experienced learning, development and capability specialist with exposure to managing training activities that address the needs of a multi-disciplined, specialised workforce in the effective and efficient delivery of programs.
You are experienced in planning and prioritising high volume and widely varying activities that address the capability requirements within a Maritime, Waterways or Transport environment.
Your strong leadership skills will see you leading by example in the facilitation of training programs to enhance capability and meet regulatory requirements across our branch. You will be responsible for outsourcing specialist training so it is therefore important you have some exposure to procurement and contracts management.
You also have a natural ability to build genuine relationships and negotiate with and influence others.
Tertiary qualifications in Organisational Development, Human Resources, Education, Psychology or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
