In this role, you'll:

be supporting our dynamic Third  Party Interface Management, Strategy and Improvement Team at Sydney Metro to acquire temporary rights on adjoining land. You will support the delivery objectives of Sydney Metro's Technical Services functional division.

You will be responsible for undertaking transactions for temporary rights on adjoining land including but not limited to freehold, leasehold and substratum related matters, easements, leases & licences and other property tenure related matters. You will also be responsible for the management of commercial negotiations as well as working closely with external service providers such as surveyors and property valuation firms.

You will be joining a collaborative team where you will play a vital role in enabling the construction of Sydney Metro projects that will transform and shape the future of Australia’s largest city.

We have multiple vacancies available. These are fixed term opportunities to align with project funding, up until 17/05/2026.

About you


You will be excited to bring your experience in the analysis and due diligence of property transaction services and your working knowledge of property valuation to ensure industry best practice.

Ideally you will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience and/or qualification in land economics, property and land valuation, construction projects or related field or relevant experience.

You will be familiar with construction and have experience working within major public infrastructure projects, preferably within the NSW government environment.

Training within the last year from the Centre for Property Acquisition is desirable.

You will have excellent negotiating and interpersonal and presentation skills and are confident in communicating your findings and recommendations at a ministerial level.

You are recognised as having highly developed written communication skills including the ability to prepare Council reports, high level presentations, complex briefings and technical reports.

You have demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills and judgement, including the ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and guidelines.

Please note that this team enjoys a hybrid way of working and this role requires site visits throughout Sydney.
