In this role, you'll:


Be working as part of a brand-new team that is establishing a Bus Regulatory Transformation Program, the Data Analyst will be responsible for leading data driven analysis to support the Safety, Policy, Environment and Regulation (SPER) division with the delivery of a number of Bus Taskforce recommendations including Fitness to Drive and National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) recommendations.

In this new opportunity, you will identify, evaluate, and consolidate key datasets from various sources (NHVR, crash databases, Transport for NSW and industry stakeholders) to assess safety, maintenance and regulatory issues and strategies associated with buses.

You'll work with other members of the team and subject matter experts to establish reporting frameworks and dashboards to monitor risk and measure effectiveness of initiatives.

About you


Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with solid experience in research, information management, or a similar field, will enable you to excel in supporting policy, regulatory, and project teams within this newly established team.

Your experience with databases, Power BI, Tableau, and SQL will be key to delivering insightful data analysis in this role. You’re passionate about problem-solving and collaboration and you thrive in a greenfield environment. You’re known for your ability to prioritise tasks under time pressure, while maintaining a pragmatic and results-driven approach.

Self-motivated and well-organised, you take ownership of your work and enjoy contributing within a multidisciplinary team. With strong communication skills, you excel at simplifying complex information and clearly conveying insights to stakeholders at all levels.

This team is currently enjoying a hybrid way of working in line with the base office located at 231 Elizabeth St Sydney and is evolving in line with Transport's policies for workplace presence.
