In this role, you'll:
Provide strategic leadership and direction in planning and developing integrated road network initiatives to support a safe, efficient and reliable transport system across Sydney.
Champion effective network management and optimisation by delivering customer-focused, data-informed strategies and safety improvements.
Oversee business case development from initial options assessment through to strategic and final business cases , ensuring best practice and alignment with community and government priorities.
Lead a high-performing, collaborative team, promoting a culture of accountability, ethics and continuous improvement.
Act as a senior liaison and representative with government agencies, local councils, elected officials, industry and community groups, advocating for customer-centric outcomes and strong stakeholder partnerships.
Provide high-level technical advice and strategic input, validating proposals and ensuring planning and investment decisions reflect transport and community needs.
Coordinate with major infrastructure projects to safeguard and enhance road network performance throughout planning, delivery and operational phases.
Monitor and evaluate network performance metrics—including safety, asset condition, and traffic flow—embedding best practice into maintenance, planning and operations.
Drive investment prioritisation and strategic portfolio decisions, ensuring integration with TfNSW corporate objectives and broader NSW Government strategy.

About you
Senior-level experience in transport, infrastructure or road safety program development and/or delivery, with deep understanding of operational and delivery imperatives.
Proven ability to lead in complex, matrixed organisations, managing uncertainty and providing high-level strategic and technical advice.
Strong track record in delivering customer-focused, evidence-based solutions that align with government and agency objectives.
Exceptional stakeholder leadership, with demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships across government, industry, and communities.
Experience overseeing business case development and investment prioritisation to support transport network improvements.
Skilled in road network operations, traffic and safety management, and integrating performance data to drive network optimisation.
Proven leadership of high-performing teams with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Excellent judgement, political acumen, and ability to manage complex, high-impact projects in dynamic environments.
