You have the opportunity to partner with project teams and set up the strategy for business cases regarding diverse multimillion/multibillion dollar infrastructure projects, ultimately delivering value for money outcomes for NSW
In this role, you'll:
Join the Business Case Centre of Excellence team in the Infrastructure Projects and Engineering (IPE), a high performing team providing business case development services to some of the State’s most complex, impactful, and largest projects.
Reporting to the Head of the Business Case Centre of Excellence and supported by a team of Senior Managers, you will be responsible for leading approaches for ‘excellence’ in business case development in relation to individual projects within the Division. You will work closely with agencies, client and corporate divisions, and key stakeholders to implement and maintain a scalable, robust, consistent and integrated approach to business case development.
This is an opportunity to drive innovation in creating an environment of successful business case development that facilitates alignment to key strategic initiatives, Transport agency investment frameworks and delivers value for money outcomes for NSW.
Two opportunities are available as Ongoing (Perm) and 3 year fixed term, Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1A level role, offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you
- You are a business case development professional with demonstrated experience in leading the development of large scale, complex transport or infrastructure related business cases; and/ or leading a significant business improvement program typically at multi-million/billion dollar level.
- You are a practitioner, with hands on experience at each stage of the business case development cycle.
- You are an enabler and influencer possessing a good level of commercial acumen.
- You are a thought leader with creative ideas on how to improve business case practise.
- You understand the importance of building strong, robust end-to-end business cases.
- You will have experience and passion for developing comprehensive, thorough and integrated approaches to business case development, with experience in delivering effective, cohesive and robust business case outcomes.
- You will have some experience developing innovative strategies during project development and investment assurance activities, to support optimal solutions for clients and communities.
- You understand the balance of addressing customer requirements whilst adhering to other regulatory, policy, government and operational conditions.
- You have strong stakeholder management skills with experience in leading a function within a high reliability / high risk working environment, a large and complex industrial and/or public sector organisation.
- Adaptable in nature, you lead by example with the ability to drive change and to motivate team members towards achieving business objectives.
- As a good problem solver, with progressive and forward-thinking attitude, you have the ability to work in a matrix-style reporting environment where it is essential to have a good understanding of customer orientation and the operational demands that come with service delivery.
