You’re excited about this opportunity to join our Strategy branch - responsible for leading  Transport-wide strategic programs and initiatives to support the Secretary and Executive in delivering the Government’s priorities for Transport for NSW.

 


This is your opportunity to shape Cabinet processes and provide high-level strategic advice in one of Australia’s largest and most dynamic public sector organisations. 

 


In this role, you’ll:

 

  • Lead independent and government reviews, associated strategic programs of work, ensuring robust program management.
  • Align the development and delivery of strategic programs with NSW Government priorities and strategic enterprise plans
  • Anticipate, understand, monitor and coordinate programs of work to manage emerging strategic issues.
  • Lead the Cabinet process for Transport for NSW, including preparing, coordinating and submitting Cabinet documents, ensuring all submissions meet government requirements and deadlines.
  • Be the point of liaison and provide strategic advice about Cabinet to the Secretary and Transport Executive as appropriate.
  • Effectively manage relationships with key stakeholders, including Ministers, Cabinet members, senior government officials, the Secretary and other agencies.
  • Support the Secretary by ensuring Transport provides expert and evidence–based advice
  • Perform Secretariat functions for executive committees and forums, delivering timely outcomes aligned to Transport priorities.
  • Lead teams through change and capability uplift, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within your team.

About You


You are an inspirational leader and trusted advisor within the public sector. You have successfully led independent and government reviews, such as NSW Audit Office performance audits, and are recognised for delivering expert, evidence-based advice that underpins strategic decision-making.


Experience in a similar role within State Government is essential. Supported by tertiary qualifications, your leadership drives robust strategic program management, ensuring alignment with NSW Government priorities and enterprise plans. You bring deep expertise in government processes and strategic submissions, consistently meeting government requirements and deadlines. As a key liaison, you have a strong track record of providing strategic guidance that enables senior leaders to make informed decisions.


You’re passionate about building organisational capability and have a proven track record of leading teams through change. Through targeted recruitment, workforce planning, and talent development, you’ve built high-performing, resilient teams. Your commitment to cultural transformation and morale uplift ensures your people are engaged, empowered, and focused on delivering quality outcomes.
