In this role you’ll


 
Join our Legal – Projects, Development & Planning (PDP) team that provides specialist construction, major projects and property and planning legal support to Transport agencies. PDP is a critical function in managing and mitigating risk for TfNSW’s Tier 1 infrastructure projects, as well as providing procurement support for sub-tier 1 projects across TfNSW’s core procurement activities (covering, road, rail, light rail and maritime procurements) and delivery and O&M functions.

 
In this up to 12 month role reporting to the Executive Director Legal – Projects, Development & Planning, you will be an integral part of our Leadership Team. The role specialises in providing front end construction legal advice to the Transport Portfolio, including Sydney Trains and NSW Trains. You will lead a team of specialised legal officers, delivering complex, high quality, high value, timely and solutions-focused legal services and independent advice.

About you

 

  • You are a tertiary qualified lawyer and licensed to practice in NSW, with at least 8 years PQE.
  • You will have extensive experience with infrastructure development
  • You will have proven expertise in construction law (front end)
  • You will bring demonstrated experience in providing expert legal advice in complex or contentious matters.
  • You will have excellent experience in major construction and infrastructure development.
  • You will have strong business acumen and the ability to provide legal advice in a way that recognises the commercial context in which your advice is being delivered.
  • You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have exceptional time and practice management skills, be willing to learn new things and are up for a new and exciting challenge!
