You have the opportunity to lead the innovation and integration of asset information systems for Road Asset & Program Services.

 

 

In this role, you'll:

 

Join the Road Asset and Program Services (RAPS) branch of the Road Maintenance and Resilience (RMR) division that takes part in making NSW roads safer, more reliable, and more resilient to better connect our community. Using an integrated enterprise approach to asset management across Transport, RAPS leads state road asset planning and statewide integrated maintenance programming to deliver operational and capital maintenance activities.

 

With a statewide focus to ensure consistency in road asset management, maintenance planning and program/project development on the State road network, RAPS aims to deliver a fully integrated road maintenance program with a forward-looking prioritised pipeline that will support more effective delivery planning, asset risk management and efficient investment outcomes. RAPS also works in partnership with the asset custodian in the Asset Management branch of the Planning, Integration and Passenger (PIP) division to ensure effective and efficient management of our State road assets under the Transport Asset Management framework.

 

Reporting to Executive Director Road Asset & Program Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of road asset data, driving the development and implementation of asset information strategies, frameworks, processes and procedures to enable data-driven decision-making.

 

Supported by a diverse team based in strategic hubs embedded across regional NSW, your people leadership skills will drive an inclusive culture bringing the team together under a functional based model. Specifically, you will provide expertise and guidance on the application of asset information management, ensuring compliance with Custodian standards, supporting data quality assurance across all road asset management functions, and optimising processes to support asset reliability, safety, and lifecycle management. This role requires specialised knowledge of transport infrastructure and road assets, as well as sound experience in data management systems implementation.

About you 

 

  • You have specialised knowledge and experience in transport infrastructure and road asset management, with a strong understanding of asset management principles and their practical application within transport networks.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of road asset management systems and data integration processes.
  • You have experience in applying technical assurance methodologies to road asset management systems and processes.
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills with experience in leading a function within a high reliability / high risk working environment, a large and complex industrial and/or public sector organisation.
  • Adaptable in nature, you lead by example with the ability to drive change and to motivate team members towards achieving business objectives.
  • As a good problem solver, with progressive and forward-thinking attitude, you have the ability to work in a matrix-style reporting environment where it is essential to have a good understanding of customer orientation and the operational demands that come with service delivery.
