In this role, you'll:

 

Join the Sydney Road Network Maintenance (SRNM) branch of the Road Maintenance and Resilience (RMR) division, that provides a safe, available and well-maintained network to the network operator. Using your experience to minimise disruption whilst delivering works to better connect our communities. SRNM manages Greater Sydney road operations and maintenance contracts, motorway & toll road deeds and tunnel contracts, to ensure they remain safe, reliable and well maintained. Our branch contains the Sydney Harbour Bridge maintenance team, with responsibility for managing this NSW icon.

 

Reporting to Executive Director, Sydney Road Network Maintenance, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Network Management functions, ensuring the safety and availability of the Greater Sydney Road Network (GSRN). This covers the management and maintenance of over $50bn of assets, comprising 7,500 lane kilometres of road network over a 12,500km2 area.

 

Supported by a team of contract and network management professionals, you will be required to drive a customer focused service for all Network users through the Sydney Roads Asset Performance (SRAP), M6 Asset Manager and Sydney Harbour Tunnel/Western Harbour Tunnel Asset Manager contracts with an annual budget of over $400m. You will be leading and building capability of the Network Management area teams across the Harbour, River, and Parklands Zones to achieve network, customer and contractual outcomes including safety, performance, sustainability, innovation and placemaking.

 

This is an opportunity to bring your commercial and innovative mindset to promote a high level of strategic engagement with our contract partners whilst providing advice, direction and consultation in relation to maintenance contracts to achieve long term outcomes aligned to TfNSW objectives.

About you 

 

  • You have extensive network management experience, ideally on large and complex road networks.
  • You have extensive asset maintenance knowledge, ideally of road assets or other large, scaled asset base.
  • You have significant leadership of contract delivery, including establishing assurance and governance frameworks, strategies, and processes, to ensure the delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • You have significant knowledge of maintenance works and the ability to understand and articulate technical issues to ensure the agency can be an informed client.
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills with experience in leading a function within a high reliability / high risk working environment, a large and complex industrial and/or public sector organisation.
  • You have tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience in managing contract and program delivery.
  • Adaptable in nature, you lead by example with the ability to drive change and to motivate team members towards achieving business objectives.
  • As a good problem solver, with progressive and forward-thinking attitude, you have the ability to work in a matrix-style reporting environment where it is essential to have a good understanding of customer orientation and the operational demands that come with service delivery.
