Join Australia’s biggest public transport project and first fully-automated metro rail network, connecting customers and transforming the way Sydney travels. Our 46 state of the art, fully accessible metro stations and precincts are designed to meet the evolving needs of our customers and communities. This is a fantastic opportunity at times of the Northwest line being already in operation and works well underway on the City & Southwest, West and Western Sydney Airport lines.
Become a member of the Project Third Party Interfaces, Strategy & Improvement Branch of Technical Services Division to provide tactical support and at an Implementation Group level and operational support to the Project Delivery Division. The team have expertise across a wide range of third party stakeholders including Utilities, Adjoining Land Owners, Developers, Councils, Rail and Road Operators including Transport for NSW and the Transport Asset Manager of NSW (TAM).
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will provide leadership and strategic guidance to Utilities Interface Management activities across Sydney Metro Enterprise and coordinate execution of utility interfaces such as utility providers and other third parties. You will drive the development and management of obligations under multiple agreements across Sydney Metro projects in order to provide quality stakeholder and Utilities interface management portfolio wide and enterprise solutions.
You will develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders whilst utilising a consistent approach to quality Utilities interface management across the wider Enterprise to achieve overall best value for money decision making for Government. Partnering with Project Leadership Teams and as the "go to" person for internal and external stakeholders in relation to Utilities interface matters across Sydney Metro enterprise, you will be responsible for timely and strategic advice to Project Delivery on Utilities interface activities across projects including risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to facilitate executive decision making and ensure decisions align to overarching objectives.
This is an opportunity to spearhead and lead complex technical and third-party issues through lessons learnt and world’s best practice to support the smooth transition of projects into delivery and operations.
This is initially a temporary opportunity for up to 12 months, Transport Senior Service Manager TSSE1A level role offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you
- You have experience working with a range of critical stakeholders on complex and large-scale infrastructure projects.
- You understand the composition of rail infrastructure supported by hands-on knowledge of how utilities work.
- You have the proven ability to create utilities strategy from construction to operations.
- You have a thorough understanding of the planning, procurement and delivery phases of a project and prior experience working with Utilities providers and third party stakeholders (ie across power, gas, water, telecommunication and communications and with local Councils being essential).
- You have led multidisciplinary technical teams and managing lean resourcing approaches.
- Your demonstrated achievement in the development and management of various technical and commercial interface issues across the entire project lifecycle will be valuable
- You will have an understanding and appreciation for Portfolio-management principles and methodologies with cross-Project consistency being absolutely critical.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of issues and risks that could impact the delivery of a project in relation to the management of key interfaces and stakeholders.
- You will be a proactive and effective communicator and have a proven ability to engage with a broad range of individuals. Collaboration is key, politically savvy you have experience dealing with influential senior stakeholders and the ability to articulate complex concepts, ensuring the executive leadership team are well informed.
