In this role you’ll
- Report to the Chief Transport Planner and play a key role in the newly formed Transport Planning Branch Leadership Team, shaping the future of NSW’s transport system.
- Oversee a team of people leaders and a workforce of around 50, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and customer-focused outcomes.
- Technical leadership as well as strategic guidance to be a key lead in planning NSW’s transport network, across road, public transport, freight, and active transport, ensuring alignment with land use and community needs.
- Deliver future focused planning, by developing mode-specific and network-wide plans, including for freight corridors, active transport, and state road infrastructure.
- Embed data-driven decision making, by defining service outcome targets and performance frameworks using analytics to guide investment and planning priorities.
- Oversee planning for future transport corridors and provide strategic options for public transport, motorways, and road freight infrastructure.
- Collaborate across government, industry, and communities to align planning with emerging mobility trends, championing resilience, accessibility, and equity across the network.

About you
You’re a strategic, customer-focused executive leader, with extensive experience in transport planning and a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, future-ready network strategies.
With tertiary qualifications and experience influencing in a matrix environment, you bring deep expertise in program and stakeholder management, navigating government processes with confidence. You excel in politically and commercially sensitive environments, delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions.
You bring specialist knowledge in network, service, mode, and product planning, informing early-stage infrastructure decisions including pre-Gate 0 and Gate 0 activities. Your collaborative leadership and global perspective on best practices make you a trusted, influential leader in shaping NSW’s transport future.
