In this role, you'll:
Join our Integrated Public Transport Planning team as a Lead Service Planner.

Building on the work of the Bus Industry Taskforce, Transport’s Medium-Term Bus Plan sets a vision for bus service improvements across NSW over the next decade. As part of a multi-disciplinary business case team, you’ll lead the service planning activities to prioritise, refine, and make the case for service improvements within Sydney.

You will provide strategic input, and evidence based analytical support services, technical knowledge and advice on issues relating to integrated transport as it relates to the Bus Service Improvement Program.

Partnering with key stakeholders and SME’s you will play a lead role in the development of business cases via detailed analysis, working through solutions to optimize operations within the confines of funding, and to create the best outcomes for the people of NSW.
 
This role will see you play an integral role in shaping the future public transport service across Sydney.

This is a temporary, full-time opportunity up to March 2027, and offers flexible, hybrid working from our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office.

About you
You are an experienced Lead Service Planner, ideally with expertise in public transport planning and demonstrated experience leading a team.

You are a critical thinker with the confidence and ability to deliver outcomes by solving complex problems in a dynamic environment. You show creativity and perseverance when faced with multiple tasks and challenges, and you have the ability to pivot and adapt when priorities change.

You will use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build genuine relationships with an array of stakeholders, and you’ll have the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes. Your experience with technical report and/or business case writing, developing presentations and communicating technical information to a varied range of stakeholders is highly desirable.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field would be beneficial, although not essential.
