In this role, you'll:

Join the Health and Safety Technical team and become a driving force in shaping the future for Sydney!

 

As an Occupational Hygienist within our expert Health and Safety Technical team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting an established occupational health and hygiene team across Sydney Metro's exceptional project portfolio.

 

This role will see you supporting an established occupational health and hygiene team in providing OHH technical advice and governance support to the Sydney Metro Project Delivery Division to facilitate Delivery Partners and Principal Contractors in complying with the Sydney Metro Principal Contractor Health & Safety Standards. This will also include Site-based audits with Delivery Partners and Principal Contractors to verify compliance with the Sydney Metro Standard.

 

Beyond that, you will also be an invaluable resource in supporting the Sydney Metro Enterprise WHS Management System with the key objective ensuring the systematic management of Enterprise-wide occupational health risks. You will be supporting the development and implementation of Sydney Metro Enterprise WHS Management System aspects, with a focus on Occupational Health and Hygiene. Some specific duties and tasks in this aspect can include health risk assessments, delivery and review of OHH-related training, control implementation and verification, and respirator fit-testing.

 

This is a fixed-term role for 24 months, requiring attendance at the Sydney Metro office and Project sites. Flexible work arrangements may be available following agreement with the Senior Manager.

About you

You will have previous experience in a similar position supported by relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Hygiene, or Science, alongside equivalent professional experience.

 

You will be proactive and take responsibility for delivering intended outcomes with the highest level of quality.

 

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex matters to a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally at all levels.

 

Ideally you will also be a Full Member of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists, and with the goal of becoming a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH)®
