In this role you will:

 

  • Play a pivotal role in providing technology project management and delivery leadership for the planning and implementation of the $66m Bus Transport Management System (BTMS) project. The BTMS project involved the refresh and replacement of back office and on bus technology on 5000 buses in Greater Sydney and Outer Metropolitan areas.

 

  • Provide high-level professional guidance and coordination for technology streams within the BTMS project that is being co-delivered with the Opal Next-Gen (ONG) program which is upgrading the ticketing system.

 

  • Lead multi-functional technology teams in the delivery of the project through procurement, commissioning and intermediate phases.

 

  • Direct the development of project schedules, resource plans and budgets to deliver outcomes that meet the BTMS strategic and operational needs.

  • Coordinate project approval, cost planning, commercial and procurement processes.

 

  • Oversee risk and issue management, as well as reporting and governance in alignment with the BTMS project and ONG program requirements.

 

  • Provide leadership and direction to a variable number of indirect technology delivery team reports in a matrix reporting line context.

About you

You are recognised for delivering large-scale, high-profile technology projects into complex, matrix business environments.  You seek a role with real impact!  You are ready to ensure seamless project execution and support to reshape the future of bus technology in NSW.

 

You possess expertise in:

 

  • Working at a senior or executive level in a complex organisation, delivering specialist and authoritative advice to executive leadership. 

  • Exceptional project planning and project management experience and full technology project life cycle capability.

  • Leadership and management skills, including the ability to strategically lead, influence and motivate highly skilled direct and indirect technical staff to deliver desired outcomes.

  • Effective collaboration with other teams across the organisation and with other programs to overcome barriers and manage inter-program dependencies and blockers

  • Managing and delivering technology projects with complex vendor engagements (experience delivering transportation technologies and solutions well regarded).

  • Engaging with business and technical stakeholders across all levels and in balancing the competing needs and expectations of stakeholders within fast-paced and agile environments.

  • Building trust, influencing and effectively communicating  on strategic and operational matters with senior stakeholders, vendors and team members at all levels applying a commercial and customer centric mindset.
