In this role, you'll:
Work across teams to manage contractor engagement, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the smooth operation of cleaning activities, from conducting risk assessments to overseeing governance and reporting.
Your responsibilities will include supporting and delivering sustainable cleaning management projects, preparing project documentation, reports, risk assessments, and submissions, and coordinating cleaning-related improvement activities and business planning. Your ability to coordinate improvement initiatives and business planning will directly impact the quality and efficiency of cleaning services, fostering a positive experience for staff and customers alike.
You’ll also manage contracts and engage with stakeholders to optimise outsourced station cleaning, while monitoring and enhancing governance and quality assurance within cleaning programs.
Additionally, you’ll be responsible for regular project reporting and communicating progress to senior stakeholders, ensuring safety compliance in line with Sydney Trains' requirements, and implementing and managing administrative and project tools, such as Excel, Equip, and TRIM.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

About you
You’re a resilient, proactive, and solutions-focused Project of Program Officer with proven project or program support experience - ideally within transport, engineering, fleet, or cleaning-related services.
You’re not just organised - you thrive under pressure, make sound judgements, and aren’t afraid to pick up the phone to resolve complex issues.
You’re systematic and confident in engaging senior stakeholders, are skilled at navigating difficult conversations with professionalism and tact and have strong time management and prioritisation skills when working in a fast-paced environment.
You’re comfortable working independently and driving initiatives from start to finish and have excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
You demonstrate proficiency in tools like Excel, Equip, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, TRIM.
