In this role, you’ll:

 

Join a newly created team, where you will coordinate and undertake the development and implementation of a range of policy initiatives and reforms related to bus regulatory transformation to enhance safety across NSW. 

           

This role will see you undertake jurisdictional analysis and research to explore policy alternatives to help shape decisions that drive bus policy and regulatory reforms. You will support development of regulations required to implement legislative change, by assisting with the preparation of discussion papers, briefs, and submissions.  In addition, you wll be coordinating stakeholder feedback and developing an evidence base for policy positions, including undertaking desk top reviews.

 

You will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating their engagement in and their contribution to the development of policy solutions. 

 

This role and the team will be exposed to a wide range of stakeholders across Safety, Policy, Environment and Regulation (SPER) and the Coordinator General divisions and be a part of a program of works that supports large scale regulatory transformation.

 

Please note that this is a temporary fixed term role up until February 2027.

About you


You have a strong background in developing and implementing policy reforms, ideally within the transport sector, ensuring they align with legislative requirements and government priorities. You’ll be used to working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government, industry, and the community coordinating engagement efforts to gather insights and drive meaningful policy initiatives.

 

You understand policy development and regulatory reform and have a sound knowledge of the machinery of government and legislative frameworks.  You are a capable communicator who can provide advice to a variety of stakeholders, and you are able to work autonomously and determine day to day priorities.

 

You’re keen to contribute and add value and be part of a collaborative team.  If you thrive in a collaborative environment and have a track record of shaping effective regulatory frameworks, we’d be keen to hear from you.

 

This team is currently enjoying a hybrid way of working in line with the base office located at 231 Elizabeth St Sydney and is evolving in line with Transport's policies for workplace presence.
