In this role, you'll:

Lead the budget, cost, forecast, and risk & opportunity functions within the technical partner EDA PMO (Engineering, Design and Assurance), supporting the successful delivery of the Western Sydney Airport (WSA) project.

You will be responsible for overseeing an already integrated project controls system, covering budget, cost forecasting, scheduling, risk & opportunity, change management, and senior leadership reporting.


This role is critical in enabling accurate project controls oversight, early risk identification, and data-driven decision-making across the EDA PMO portfolio.

You will drive the consistent application of Sydney Metro’s project controls standards, ensure work package performance is transparently tracked and reported, and provide strategic advice to the EDA Leadership Team and senior stakeholders across finance and commercial.

Role is based in  Sydney. It is a hybrid role with office and at home mix according to TfNSW policy.

 

Key Accountabilities


• Lead the application of TfNSW-endorsed project controls standards with a strong focus on cost, forecasting, and risk & opportunity management


• Oversee and enhance the EDA PMO’s integrated project controls framework to monitor performance across budget, schedule, scope, and risk


• Prepare accurate forecasts and monthly reports that provide clear insights into cost performance, risk exposure, and key delivery milestones


• Coordinate risk and change management processes, including the identification of mitigation strategies and assessment of project impacts


• Collaborate with work package sponsor teams and stakeholders to establish, track, and report on KPIs aligned with program objectives


• Ensure project controls outputs such as cost reports, schedules, and dashboards are consistent, validated, and compliant with assurance standards


• Promote continuous improvement by embedding best practices in project controls, reporting, and decision-making support

About you

• Substantial experience in project controls on large-scale infrastructure programs with complex stakeholder environments


• Proven expertise in cost forecasting, financial and schedule reporting, risk and change management in a construction delivery environment


• Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and drive adoption of standards and best practice


• Strong track record of stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams and external partners


• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction, project management or a related field, or equivalent experience


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate data into actionable insights
