In this role, you'll:
Join our Light Rail Contracts team within our Public Transport branch as a Senior Operations Officer, where you will support in the procurement and delivery of light rail services.

You will play a key role in operational and service delivery aspects of the light rail including performance management, incident management, environment and asset management and service delivery for key cultural and sporting events. You will also assist in the day-to-day management of service contracts with transport service providers across the sub-branch to ensure that they comply with their contractual obligations, including performance standards.

This role will see you working closely with internal and external stakeholders such as contractors, our Major Events team, and the Transport Management Centre, along with other agencies, and will involve participating in meetings and forums with service providers and industry representatives to drive better customer outcomes, improved performance, efficiencies, and value for money.

This is a temporary, full time position up to April 2027 and offers hybrid working from our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office.

About you
You have proven knowledge and experience in contract management, performance management, and operations, preferably in a rail transport environment, along with an understanding of commercial and contract law, and public sector statutory requirements.

You will hold relevant qualifications in procurement, contract management, law, commerce, business operations or economics and/or equivalent industry experience. In addition, well-rounded experience in operational planning, and the ability to work flexibly and efficiently in a dynamic environment will see you succeed in this role.

Your stakeholder management expertise, ability to influence, and negotiate and collaborate with all levels of stakeholders, along with strong communication skills, will see you drive performance and deliver outcomes for our customer.
